Ordering & Pickup

How do I place an order?

Orders can be placed directly through the website while items are available. Quantities may be limited depending on the weekly baking schedule.

Each loaf is handcrafted in small batches and baked fresh by Josie. Orders placed before 2 p.m. will be added to the next available baking schedule. Current turnaround time is approximately two business days.

If you need bread for a specific date, please text Josie at 954-899-4371 to confirm availability before ordering.

When is pickup?

Pickup details and timing will be communicated after your order is placed. Local pickup is currently available in the South Charlotte, NC area.

Do you offer shipping?

Yes, select shelf-stable bakery items, including breads and dried sourdough starter flakes, are available for shipping.

Orders requiring shipping will receive a separate shipping invoice after packaging and weighing to ensure accurate 1 to 2 day shipping rates for freshness.

About the Bread

Is your sourdough made with commercial yeast?

No. My sourdough breads are naturally leavened using active sourdough starter.

Why does sourdough bread look different from store-bought bread?

Artisan sourdough is handmade and naturally fermented, which means each loaf has its own unique shape, texture, and character.

Crust, color, and air pockets may vary from loaf to loaf, and that’s part of the love behind artisan baking that makes it so special.

How should I store my bread?

Sourdough is best stored at room temperature in a bread bag, wrapped in a towel, or in a bread box. Avoid refrigerating when possible, as it can dry the bread out more quickly.

I prefer using beeswax-lined bread bags for storing my personal sourdough and have linked my favorites in my Amazon Finds section.

Can I freeze sourdough bread?

Yes! Sourdough freezes beautifully. Slice before freezing for easy reheating.

Allergens & Ingredients

Does your kitchen handle common allergens?

Yes. Products are made in a home kitchen that may process wheat, dairy, eggs, nuts, and other common allergens.

Are your products made in a commercial kitchen?

These products are homemade and not produced in a commercial kitchen.

Sourdough Starter

What’s included with dried starter?

Each dried starter order includes dehydrated starter flakes, instructions for reviving your starter, feeding guidance, and a beginner-friendly sourdough loaf recipe.

How long does it take to revive dried starter?

Most dried starters can become active within a few days.

What’s the difference between live starter and dried starter?

Live starter is active and ready to feed immediately. Dried starter flakes are dehydrated for storage and shipping and must be revived before baking.
